Tip #1 - Home insurance deductible:
Make sure to review your home insurance deductible. If you have it listed at $500 but you wouldn’t turn in a claim for $750, raise up the deductible and save some money.

Tip #2 - In a car accident a picture is worth a thousand words. . .
No matter what kind of car accident you are in, be it minimal, hit and run or catastrophic, always call the authorities and make a police report. A police report is what your insurance company bases any claim you make. Bonus tip: Carry a disposable camera or regular camera with you so you can take pics of the damage for your records. A picture is worth a thousand words.

Tip #3 - Do I need Travel insurance?
Travel insurance: If your health insurance covers you when you travel, you may not need the travel insurance coverage. Check with health carrier if you are traveling outside of the U.S. By avoiding some of the above policies, you will reduce the risk of buying insurance you do not need.

Tip #4 - Do I need Rental car insurance?
Rental car insurance: If you have a full-coverage policy, check with your agent to see whether or not you are covered. Also, check your credit card provider, they may offer coverage if you use the card when renting vehicles

Tip #5 - Do I need Mechanical breakdown insurance?
Mechanical breakdown insurance: If you have a new vehicle or lease vehicles that are still with warranty, you do not need this additional insurance coverage.

Tip #6 - Roadside assistance? Do I need it?:
Roadside assistance: If you already have AAA, you do not need such insurance.

Tip #7 - Do I need comprehensive car insurance?
Comprehensive insurance coverage for your vehicle: It is not necessary for vehicles that have little value or no value.
